Tim Aldred
Chief copywriter
Tim is an experienced copywriter and oversees the written work produced by Slater PR.
In his widely varied role with us, his projects have seen him sit in the deputy editor’s chair for megastar.co.uk, which was once the Daily Star’s website, helping take the site from 225,000 hits per day to 385,000 per day in three months.
He has also been a key contributor to footymad.net and editor of roversmad.co.uk, provided content for iflorist and Flowers Direct magazines and has been a contributor to Lancashire Business View since its inception and currently holds the assistant editor role.
One thing you probably didn’t know:
At nine years old I wrote, illustrated and edited my own Blackburn Rovers fanzine. I only had the resources to produce one – and I kept that for myself.
Three things I couldn’t survive without on a desert island:
I’m rarely seen without my headphones in, so an mp3 player would be a necessity, and I really value my sleep, so I’d need to bring my bed. And because nothing annoys me more than forgetting a specific word I’d need a dictionary.
Things I like:
Irn Bru, sunny holidays, white chocolate and the original Space Invaders arcade game.
Celebrity crush:
Louise, the pop star.
Must-watch TV:
At the weekend it’s Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling. The rest of the time it’s Scrubs.
My earliest memory:
Dancing in my living room to The Only Way is Up by Yazz on Top of the Pops. I met her many, many years later in a Mexican restaurant and she autographed a menu for me.
Book I’ve bought but never read:
There’s hundreds of them, I buy them at a faster rate than I could ever hope to read them. The Divine Comedy was a particularly ambitious purchase, though.
