Something you didn’t know about me:
I can swim very fast! I am ranked number one in the UK for my age group over 50m breaststroke.
Three things I couldn’t survive without on a desert island:
My iPhone, a deck of cards and a pile of books.
What was your first job?
The first money I made was busking. I wasn’t good, but it was better than bar work. My first paid wage was at a Victoria Wine off-licence. My first media job was as a reporter on the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
What is your favourite type of music?
My favourite song is God Only Knows by The Beach Boys and my favourite album is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. The bands I’ve probably listened to more than any other over the years: Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen (early albums only I’m afraid), Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Anthrax, Eels, Muse, Beta Band and, latterly, Fratellis and the magnificent Elbow.
