July 1st marks the two year anniversary since smokers were stripped of their rights to smoke indoors, which has consequently led to a devastating 60 pub closures in East Lancashire alone.
Much of this has been blamed on the ban which forces smokers to leave in order to light up, but Intellicig’s electronic cigarettes don’t fall foul of the law and is the smokers’ and landlords’ solution to getting around the ban.

One man who is all too familiar with the consequences of the smoking ban is ‘Save the Pub’s’ campaigner Nick Hogan.
The publican hit the headlines when he was fined £11,500 for refusing to send three Second World War veterans out into the rain to smoke.
Hogan, now UKIP’s national spokesman for Licensing and Night Time Economy, said: “At last smokers can enjoy smoking in pubs without feeling ostracised.
“The ban has had a devastating effect on the licensed trade with over 750 jobs being lost every fortnight.”
The electronic cigarette has all the same qualities as a cigarette, but is cheaper, legal for indoor use and more pleasurable for those around the ‘vapers’ as there is no danger of passive smoking and no nasty smoke odours.
David Newns, Intellicig’s commercial director, said: “Pubs and clubs are closing all the time, in part because of the ban – Intellicig hopes to reverse that because smokers can enjoy vaping whenever and wherever they like.
“We have a product that will satisfy smokers and, at the same time, enable venues to welcome smokers back through their doors.”
The alarming rate at which pubs are closing is mirrored nationally with The British Beer and Pub Association warning that six are closing every day and more than 2,000 have closed in the last 12 months.
